|
Access: |
- If coming from abroad
fly preferably to Changi
Airport,
Singapore as
it is an easier, more direct route. The drive from Johor Bahru to Tanjong
Leman, the staging point for Pulau Sibu is 2 hours. All new staff will be
met by us at the Airport and taken to Pulau Sibu.
-
- We do not pay your
air fare.
|
| Visa: |
- Any
necessary or applicable paperwork is organised by us.
|
|
Insurance: |
- We do not provide
staff with any medical insurance other
than SOCSO where
applicable. Foreign staff may wish to take out some travel insurance that
covers repatriation. Our dive base staff are always first aiders and we
keep a comprehensive first aid kit on the island. Should any staff need
medical attention we take them straight to the National
University
Hospital in Singapore.
|
|
Insects: |
- Mosquitoes & sand
flies. We have a regular cleaning, fogging
& spraying programme,
which keeps the resort pretty clear. New staff are provided with Off spray
for mossies and our own sand fly remedy to use but one does become immune
(eventually!). We also provide staff with mossy nets if they would like
(although none of us use them).
|
|
Vaccinations: |
- The only vaccination
that we recommend is Hepatitis B.
I know doctors and travel
agents will tell you differently and the choice is entirely yours but it’s
not necessary. We are also a Malaria free zone and you do not need to take
Malaria tablets.
|
- Notes:
-
- Any type of facial
piercing, including the tongue, is completely unacceptable (apart from
earings).
-
- We expect our staff to
be dressed smartly at all times and pay attention to personal hygiene.
Shorts and tee shirts are the order of the day but if you don’t want to
iron your clothes do not bring clothes that need ironing! All staff are
responsible for their own laundry.
-
- There is to be NO
fraternisation between staff, it ALWAYS ends in disaster, be friends
until the season is over!!!
-
- And finally:
-
- At the end of the day
we are a small family business. We try to create a family atmosphere
between the staff and like all families we expect our fair share of
tiffs. We all help each other out. If we suddenly ask you to watch the
bar, paint a wall, run through the jungle to get Henry, the dog, back from
another resort (since he’s too daft to come back by himself) or go to Tg.
Leman for something we will expect you to help with a smile!
