The Setting  

Sea Gypsy Village is set in a 5 acre clearing of jungle with plenty of shade trees and garden. The beach is approximately 350 meters long and has soft golden sand which continues out into the sea making swimming both safe and comfortable. 

The Accommodation

Our 6 purpose built family chalets have two bedrooms. One with a king sized bed for two adults, the other with 2 sets of built in bunk beds that can take up to 4 children, or 3 children and a maid. There is no connecting door between the bedrooms but both rooms connect to a large bathroom and a private verandah. The decor is simple but adequate and in harmony and keeping with the natural style and colours of the environment. As an eco resort we choose to have large overhead fans and 24 hour electricity rather than air conditioning. There is absolutely nothing nicer than going to sleep with the windows open listening to the sound of the ocean and the rustle of the palm trees. That's what an island holiday is all about!

The Amenities

 

Every chalet has chairs & an outdoor light on their private sea view verandah, an overhead fan, bedside lamps, shelves, hanging space & hooks. Mosquito nets, linen, bath towels and beach towels are provided. Bathrooms are en suite with overhead shower, foot tap, sink and toilet. On request we provide booster steps for toddlers to reach sinks, baby baths & hooded baby towels, cots with mossy nets, bed guards and even soft cosy baby blankets.

Sea Gypsy Village has 24 hour electricity & drinkable water!

The Dinning Room

Our daily rate includes breakfast, lunch and dinner, we do not offer half board or bed and breakfast.

 

The cuisine varies daily between Malay, Indonesian, Chinese and Western style. Our buffet breakfast varies daily when it comes to sausage, corn beef hash, meatballs, beans, fried toms, Nasi Lamak, french toast or types of egg but always consists of Roti Canai, waffle pancakes, toast, juice, free pour tea & coffee plus the usual butter, jam, marmalade, peanut butter (crunchy or smooth), and Marmite.

We cater for vegetarians (Veggy Menu), special diets or allergies, all guests are asked about diet when booking. Those with Celiac disease, which is becoming more common, may like to bring some wheat free bread or crackers but other than that a gluten free diet is very easy at Sea Gypsy.

 

We offer three baby & toddler menus, 6 to 9 months, 9 to 12 months, 12 to 18 months for parents to choose from, any time of day. Baby & toddler meals are all prepared from scratch using fresh produce. We only stock UHT milk, you are welcome to bring some fresh milk and store it in the fridge. We are happy to wash and sterilize bottles for you. Bring a thermos to take hot water to your room for making early morning bottles. High chairs & booster seats are available.

 

We offer an all day a la carte menu that includes great snacks for people with the munchies! All Day Menu

A la carte Afternoon Tea is served daily from 4 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. with fresh baked goods

(and I can honestly say our Brownies are probably some of the best you'll ever taste and completely addictive!)

The Bar - Dan's Dive

Sea Gypsy Village is a fully licensed resort and the Dan's Dive offers a view which is both breathtaking and relaxing. You can enjoy the moonrise as you slowly sip your cocktail and unwind. We carry a large range of spirits and offer a huge assortment of cocktails (Bar Price List). We also offer an excellent selection of wine at very reasonable prices (Wine List). (So leave that cold box at home, it's not worth the bother and we charge corkage!) The bar is open as long as guests are still ordering drinks.

The Shop

There is a small shop in the bar which sells various sun-lotions and potions, a selection of essential toiletries & medical supplies, postcards, disposable cameras and batteries. It also carries a large selection of crisps, Pringles, nuts, biscuits, chocolate, sweets and even raisins, so once again don't bother to carry all that extra luggage. (As a bonus it prevents little 'jungley creatures' enjoying snacks you may have in your room!) The Bar Shop also sells ice cream. The shop off the restaurant sells T shirts, polo shirts, singlets & caps all with the Resort or Dan's Nasy logos plus sarongs, solar suits, Noosa hats and our own line in jewelry.

The Conference and TV Room

We have Astro TV available for watching all major sporting events live. The room is furnished with comfortable chairs and can easily be turned into a small conference room with table and chairs, white board, overhead projector and projector.

 

The Dive Base - Dan's Nasty Frogmen

The resort boasts a professionally run fully equipped dive base offering boat diving, snorkeling trips and excursions daily. Anyone who would like to "try scuba" can experience a beach dive on our artificial house reef after a fun intro to scuba equipment & basic skills for only RM140. Qualified divers are requested to show their dive cards so please remember to bring them. We also teach children to dive from the age of 8 years with our Scuba Rangers programme.

The Boats

The resort operates two licensed 32 foot, twin 85 hp engine, 15 seat boats with canopies. Custom made life jackets made to Government safety standards in 6 sizes from baby to extra large are provided and must be worn by law. The crossing from Tanjong Leman to Pulau Sibu takes approximately 20 minutes. The boats are also used for dive and snorkeling trips. (Richard's 7 foot boat with a 3 hp engine for playing pirates, the Black Pig, is looking sad and lonely so I'm going to insist he gets it out on the next school hols and puts it back in the water!)

The Facilities
